The renter has the right to demand the termination of the contract due to force majeure independent of the boat owner before the start of the rental period. If the claim is made 28 days before the start of the rental, the lessee is entitled to a refund of the rent paid. If the cancellation is made later, the owner has the right to keep the booking fee or the rental amount in full. So it is worth trying to discuss the matter with the owner.
